This high-level event serves to formally launch the Global Alliance for Reporting Progress on Promoting Peaceful, Just, and Inclusive Societies and will provide a platform for Member States and representatives from civil society and the private sector to engage in strategy and policy discussion, outline priorities, exchange knowledge and experience and strengthen partnerships within the international community to promote peaceful, just, and inclusive societies.
Recognizing the need to build new forms of partnership to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Member States and representatives of civil society and the private sector with facilitation by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), have come together to create the Global Alliance for Reporting Progress on Promoting Peaceful, Just, and Inclusive Societies. The Global Alliance aims to harness the strengths and resources of its diverse members in order to support effective and meaningful reporting on the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 16 and its inter linkages to the entirety of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
