I lived in Nigeria for my entire childhood. When I came to the United States, my eyes were opened as to how unaware other countries were to the overwhelming economic and cultural challenges of Africa.  It was then I knew I was meant to dedicate my life to bringing a voice to those still in the shadows and to enlighten those totally unaware of the atrocities women and children in Africa endure.

The Africa investors conference held at the New York Stock Exchange provided great insight into the current developments in Africa, from both a geopolitical and investment perspective. During the Africa’s Capital Market; Derisking Africa panel chaired by: Arunma Oteh, Director General, the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria. Many topics discussed included the political environment change through out Africa, how markets for capital formation are being better developed to invest in the must needed infrastructure, and growing public and private sectors.   Speakers included: Ekow Afedzie, Deputy MD, Ghana Stock Exchange, Edoh Amenouve, Chief Executive and Director-General BRVM, Jay Ireland President of GE Africa , Sunil Benimadhu, CEO, Stock Exchange of Mauritius and Chair African Securities Exchange Association, and Karim Hajji, CEO Casablanca Stock Exchange.
